Hello friends!
It’s August already! A new stack
of book is waiting for me to read (not all of them are new books added to my TBR
list though). This month, I decided to participate in some readathons, and I
think my reading plans are getting more ambitious as I add new readathon to
join in. On August, I’m participating in Merlin Readathon, Pixarathon, Disney
Readathon, and Enneagram Readathon. Okay, maybe I lost my mind when I chose
them all but there is fun side to know the prompts for each team you are in. Beside,
I added 3 more books to my August reading plans by drawing tarot cards (even
though Tarot Readathon has been over – I’m still using their prompts since I
want to try them all).
1. Merlin Readathon
This readathon runs on August 1 –
August 15 by choosing 4 books for each path we get through. It’s interesting,
because the book prompt we get will be determined by the path we decided to
choose. Here I have chosen 4 books from the path of Apprentice to Mage :
a. Read an author debut
After/Math by Emily Barth Isler
b. Read a book with map
Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon
c. Read a book featuring friendship
My Cat Called Red by Jane Lightbourne
d. Read a five star prediction
Aristotle and Dante Discover The
Secrets of The Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
2. Pixarathon
Pixarathon is a Pixar inspired
readathon which uses Pixar movies as prompts. There are some routes you can
choose (or you can choose all the routes) based on the movie genres. Here I
chose the Monster Route, because my very recent watched Pixar movie is Luca.
This readathon runs the whole month of August.
a. ONWARD : A book featuring
puzzle or mystery
Witching Moon by K.E Bonner
I’m going to re-read some old
manga that made me laugh in the past, so let’s see which one of them still
making me laugh on 2021
Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi
Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP
c. MONSTERS UNIVERSITY : A book setting at university or school
A World without Princes by Soman Chainani
d. LUCA : A book takes place on or near the sea
The Magic Ocean Slide by Emma Beswetherick
3. Disney Readathon
This is another readathon held on
the whole month of August. As you can see from the title, this readathon is
inspired by Disney movies. This time, we have 4 teams to choose which are
Pocahontas, Enchanted, Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent. You can take this
quiz to determine your team. Each team has group books to read along with the
prompts. This time, I’m in Alice in Wonderland team. So here are the books I’m
going to read for August :
a. ALICE : A book with an adventure
The Reader by Traci Chee
b. WHITE RABBIT : A book where the pressure is too high for the characters
Midnight Library by Matt Haig
c. CHESIRE CAT : A book that will make you happy
It’s the same for my previous
prompt, I’m going to re-read some old mangas
Shaman King by Hiroyuki Takei
Almighty X10 by Aqua Mizuto
Kitchen Princess by Miyuki Kobayashi
d. MAD HATTER : A book with intriguing cover
Charting Stars by Micheline
Ryckman
e. THE TWEEDLES : A group book
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
f. QUEEN OF HEARTS : Choose one
prompt to skip, and you still gain points
Maybe I’m going to skip the group
book
4. Enneagram Readathon
This readathon takes place on August
1 – August 15. It’s an enneagram inspired readathon which have 9 teams based on
9 types of enneagram. There is group book you have to read for each team too. If
you don’t know which team to join in, you can take this enneagram quiz to know
your type. I’m enneagram type 9 or The Peacemaker, so here are my books to read
:
Group book :
Conversations with Friends by
Sally Rooney
Team prompts :
a. A book with supporting friend
Saving Fable by Scott Reintgen
b. A book which is a friend’s pick
Before The Coffee Gets Cold by
Toshikazu Kawaguchi
c. A book with cozy vibe
Night Shift Witch by Cate Lawley
5. Tarot Draw
This month I decided to only draw
3 tarot cards which are optional for me, since my priority is finishing all my
readathons’ prompts. The additional 3 books I’m going to read hopefully by the
last week of August are :
a. The Temperance : read an
e-book / listen to an audiobook
The Song of The Stone by May
Nicole
b. Knight of Wands : read a book with adventure
The Crowns of Croswald by D.E
Night
c. The Wheel of Fortune : read a book with “destined to be together” trope
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
By seeing this reading plan, I know, I’m a bit more ambitious this month. It may be due to the fiery month! Leo season is blazing us with the fire! So, how about you? do you have books you want to read this month? Or do you participate in any of those readathons above? Or do you have a favorite book to recommend which can fulfill one of the prompts here? Tell me down below. Okay, thank you for reading this blog post, I’m going to post my July reading wrap up next. See you then!
