June is the sixth month of the year, and to celebrate, I’m going to challenge myself to do Six Minutes A Day Reading Challenge! This challenge is inspired by research that shows how a few minutes of reading can significantly reduce stress. A 2009 study by researchers at the University of Sussex found that reading for just 6 minutes can reduce stress by as much as 68% [1]. Cool, isn't it?
How to Join the Challenge
1. Pick a book: Choose any book that interests you. It could be fiction, non-fiction, a collection of short stories, or even poetry. If you don't know which book you're going to read or you want to get some reading prompts for inspiration, you can get it here: Pick A Card (Tarot), Once Upon A Tome, Written in the Stars, Playing Cards
2. Set a timer: Use a timer or a reading app to track your reading session. Set it for six minutes.
3. Read without distractions: For those six minutes, focus solely on reading. Avoid any distractions and immerse yourself in the book.
